You have three installation options with your Whisker Vent Litter Box System
The Whisker Vent Litter box System provides three installation options. The advantages and disadvantages are listed here for
you to make your best installation decision.
Whisker Vent Litter Box Protocol
The litter box should be placed in low traffic area where the noise is relatively low, but the Litter box should be easy for your cat to find.
KEEP IT CLEAN!
Cats are very clean animals and like their surroundings to be clean
as well. As a rule of thumb, you should scoop the Litter Box daily, and change the litter once a week.
The Whisker Vent Litter Box system is a great system that will eliminate your Litter box odor. By following these simple rules, you will enhance your Whisker Vent Litter box system.
If at any time your cat stops using the Litter Box for no apparent reason; and you have not
changed location, litter, cleaning habits, etc, consult your Veterinarian. This may be a sign of a medical issue.
- Scoopable cat litter works very well, and aids in your daily cleaning
- Avoid scented litters. Cats have very sensitive noses and many fragrances annoy them (un-scented litters will also increase your Whisker Vent filter life).
- Litter depth should be approximately 2 inches
- Change the litter weekly
- Try not to change your brand of litter. Cats are very finicky and do not like changes.
- The number of Litter Boxes should equal the number of cats (2 cats-2 Litter boxes)
Litter Box Filter System
The most popular package comes with a modified litter box, exhaust motor and filter.
No installation required, just plug in and attach the filter and Whisker Vent will create an odor free Litter Box.
The Whisker Vent filter will need to be replaced every 4-6 weeks depending on how clean you keep your Litter Box. If you follow Whisker Vents Litter box protocol it will maximize the life of your filter.
Venting your Litter Box System through a barrier
Using the Whisker Vent Litter box system’s exhaust tube this installation.
Once Whisker Vent is installed there is no maintainence. Whisker Vent will operate for years on its own.
Need to drill a 7/8" hole in the barrier for the exhaust tube installation track.
Venting your Litter Box through a window
Using the Whisker Vent Litter box window insert.
The installation is very simple and no power tools are required. A quick measure and a single cut through foam with a bread knife or hand saw is only required. The exhausted odor leaves no smell behind.
A window must be partially opened all the time (4 inches). If you choose this method, we recommend you secure your window after the Whisker Vent foam insert is installed using window limiter hardware or a rod placed in the window track.
